Hello to everyone!!!
2) KOi Fusion/Paul Mitchell Academy – Korean Tacos!!! Cmon! Thanks to Bo Kwon the owner of KOi Fusion for coming each month with their food truck. 3rd Thursday of each month you can find the KOi Fusion under the Burnside Bridge fixing hundreds of tacos for our guests, not only that but the Paul Mitchell Academy also comes to give our guests some incredible hair cuts.
3) Over 600 participated in Transformation Trips this year! Students from all over the nation come into Portland and serve the city. They were challenged to go back to their own city and serve. Students from as far away as Texas came this year to love on the city of Portland and learn. Teams were led by Ben Durham who worked, along with our interns, to make each trip a fantastic opportunity for each participant. It truly was a great summer.
4) BTown Kids – launched 2 new sites this year; one in the Park Rose area, and the other in Aloha. Each site saw children and their families. We were blessed to see over 1300 kids this year and share the message that they are loved, they are known and they matter! We look forward to more strategic partnerships with others in serving these kids and their families.
I wish I could share so much more, about our fist ever BTown Kids Camp, our new after school program called First Door, our new staff member Emily and the launch of our new Transformation Initiative……but it would be a long post and I want you to read it!
I wanted to share with about something you will most likely hear about. You may have heard that Solid Rock Church is changing their name to “A Jesus Church”. They are an incredible organization doing great things throughout the city and we often see their people come down on Thursday nights to serve at Night Strike. Solid Rock Church meets in various areas of the Portland Metro area and one of their meeting places is downtown Portland. They are going to be calling the downtown location “A Jesus Church – BridgeTown”. They see it as part of their “A Jesus Church” family, but the name will denote location for this part of their “family”.
I met with their Pastor Gerald and we discussed how this could cause confusion for us at BridgeTown Inc. They were gracious and understanding to our concerns and we dialogued how we could work together to help with the confusion.
We will continue to dialogue as issues come up from this and ask you to help in the clarity of the name change for Solid Rock. We respect and look forward to their continued involvement in BridgeTown Inc, and anticipate a positive influence on down town proper, our dear “Bridgetown” area!
If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com
